VaultKey

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 14 September 2026

VaultKey is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your passwords and sensitive information remain under your control and are stored locally on your device. VaultKey does not require an account, registration, sign-in, or email address for normal use.

1. Information We Collect

VaultKey allows you to store password information such as:

This information is stored locally on your device. VaultKey does not collect or upload your stored password information to any server operated by the developer.

Email Address and Master Password Recovery

VaultKey does not require users to create an account, register, sign in, or provide an email address to use the application.

If you forget your Master Password, VaultKey provides an optional recovery procedure. To request assistance, you may choose to send an email to the developer containing a temporary, unique recovery code generated by the VaultKey application.

The recovery code is used to identify and process your recovery request. The developer does not receive your Master Password through this process.

After receiving a valid recovery request, the developer may reply to the email address used to submit the request with a corresponding unlock code. The unlock code allows you to proceed with changing your Master Password within the application.

Providing an email address is completely optional and is only necessary if you choose to use this recovery procedure.

2. Password Security

VaultKey encrypts password information before storing it on your device. Your Master Password is used to protect access to your password database.

VaultKey does not require an online account or sign-in to access the application.

The developer does not have access to your Master Password or the passwords stored in your VaultKey database.

If you forget your Master Password, the optional recovery procedure allows you to submit a temporary, unique recovery code generated by the application. The developer can then provide a corresponding unlock code through email so that you can change your Master Password.

3. Backup and Restore

Premium users can create encrypted backups of their password database.

Backup files are stored locally on your device. VaultKey does not upload password database backups to any online server operated by the developer.

4. Google Play Billing

VaultKey offers an optional one-time purchase called VaultKey Premium.

Payments are securely processed by Google Play. VaultKey does not collect, process, or store your payment information.

5. Data Sharing

VaultKey does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or other unrelated purposes.

If you voluntarily use the Master Password recovery procedure, the email address you use to contact the developer and the recovery code contained in your message are received by the developer for the purpose of processing your recovery request.

The developer does not use the email address or recovery code for advertising, marketing, or unrelated purposes.

6. Internet Access

VaultKey is designed to function primarily offline.

Internet access may be used for Google Play services, such as verifying Premium purchases.

The optional Master Password recovery procedure uses your email application to send the recovery request to the developer. The email itself is handled through your email provider and the developer's email service.

7. Data Retention

Your password data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the application.

If you uninstall the app without creating a backup, your locally stored password data may be permanently lost.

For Master Password recovery requests, the developer may retain the email correspondence and recovery code for as long as reasonably necessary to process and respond to the recovery request and to maintain appropriate records.

Recovery-related information is not used for advertising, marketing, or unrelated purposes.

8. Children's Privacy

VaultKey is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page together with an updated effective date.
